Pond Lights
There are many ways that you can spice up your backyard. Some people will build an outdoor kitchen while other will install a pool. If you want something that is more peaceful and will help you to relax every night than why not install a pond with a garden around it?
Ponds are beautiful to look at during the day and at night they can be peaceful to have around. Inside of them you can have exotic flowers, fish, and a pond light. The light is good to have because it helps to brighten up the garden at night and it helps to silhouette the pond and make it more beautiful than before.
Floating Lights
There are different types of pond lights that you can use. One of the easiest to install and to use are the floating lights. These are placed on the surface of the water and do not have to be connected to any wires, timers, or other electrical components. All you have to do is decide how large they need to be and how many you would like. Place them in the pond and allow them to move of their own accord or anchor them down with a line and a weight.
You can choose between the colored or the clear lights. Both of these come in various sizes as well as shapes. If you wish to be more unique you can find the ones in the shape of water lilies and other water plants. They will cost anywhere between $50 to $300 depending on the brand and size you pick out.
Standard Lights
If you wish to have a truly dramatic look than install the standard pond lights around the edges of the pond and just beneath the surface. Space each light between two and three feet apart. To accomplish this you will need a fixture, cable, transformer, and anchor. Use an outdoor ground fault circuit interrupter to plug into the cable beneath the water. Place the electric box on a post near the pond so you can turn them on and off when needed.
Solar Lights
To save yourself some money you can use the solar pond lights. These will use the power of the sun to power them through the night. This will save you time from using cables and wires and will prevent you from paying a monthly bill to light up your pond.
