Outdoor Motion Sensor Lights
Have you ever left your home in such a hurry that you forgot to turn the porch light on. When you got back home you were greeted to a completely dark home and no way to see what you are doing. This is annoying when you are trying to unlock the door and it leaves your home vulnerable to thieves.
The best way to avoid this and to save on electricity bills is to install an outdoor motion sensor light. These look like ordinary lights except that they are built with a motion sensor. This sensor will turn the light on when a person or animal comes within its borders.
You can purchase these lights in a variety of styles and sizes to match the look of your home. They can cost as little as $10 or as high as $100. Most will come in a pre wired kit that makes it easy for you to install them yourself. This is probably one of the most popular forms of security lighting that people will use all over the sides of their home.
Types Of Sensors
There are two types of sensors that you can purchase; passive and active. The passive sensors are designed to detect when anything nearby is moving. This means that is there is something near and they are not moving than it will not turn itself on. When the sensor is turned on low it can detect even the smallest of animals moving nearby. Most units use this type of sensor.
The active sensor is designed to turn itself on when energy is being emitted. This means that even though the person or animal is not moving the device will pick up on the energy emitting from them and turn on.
