Outdoor Landscaping Lights
There are two ways in which you are able to light up your front and back yard. Many people will set up safety lights that will help to provide enough light for them to see all around and prevent intruders. Others will set up lights to provide safety – but also to help decorate their landscaping.
Outdoor landscaping lights are some of the best to use and the most decorative. The best thing about these is that they cover a broad range or areas. Some are used to light up the pathway and driveway and other to light up the pond or fountain. We want to take a look at some of the more practical landscape lights.
Deck Lights
Most homes will have either a patio or a deck. The difference between the two is that the patio is a simple floor that is built off of the house. The deck is an actual structure that is built a few feet off the ground and is fenced in with stairs leading down to the yard. These can look rather plain except when you use the right type of lighting around it.
Deck lights come in a variety of styles and sizes to fit any type of deck. You can find some in the shape of animals that sit on the side railings, lights that can be built into the stairs, and lantern type lights that sit on top of the deck. These are easy to install and will cost around $50 each.
Wall Lights
Wall lights are the most common type of landscaping lights that you can use. These are installed on the side of the house or even on the side of trees. Most come in the form of a lantern that is surrounded by glass and built with a metal frame. The wall arm mount lights are placed a few inches from the wall and have a decorative arm to keep them secure.
The flush mount lights sit directly to the house, tree, or other structure. You can purchase them in classic to modern styles. One of the best ways to focus in on one particular part of your landscaping is to use the downlights. These are powerful like the flood lights and will focus on one broad area. Many of these will cost around $30 each.
